Marc S. Berlin

Award-winning attorney Marc Berlin grew up in Detroit and graduated from Southfield High School, just down 10 Mile Road from Fieger Law.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, Marc earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from University of Detroit School of Law in 1984. He began his career doing primarily municipal and corporate law at Shifman and Carlson, P.C. where he served as Assistant City Attorney for Oak Park and Huntington Woods, Mich.

From 1988 to 2015, Marc worked at Portnoy & Roth, P.C., where he focused on all aspects of medical malpractice defense. There, he not only found his calling at the intersection of law and medicine, but valued mentorship from Founding Partner Bernard Portnoy and Managing Partner Robert Roth. After a year at The Barker Law Group, he was hired by Fieger Law in July, 2016.
Marc loves the law because it is never boring, and offers the opportunity to help people in crisis find justice in an often unjust world.

Among his many achievements, Marc has attained the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating (AV Preeminent 5.0-5.0), and has been named a Top Lawyer by dBusiness Magazine. He received the Distinguished Michigan Supreme Court Brief Award through the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review in 2006, and an American Jurisprudence Award in labor law.
He also has presented at legal and society conferences.

While raising his three children, now grown, Marc served as an executive board member for North Farmington-West Bloomfield Baseball and Softball for Youth; and as president of North Farmington High School Men’s Soccer Booster Club.

He and his wife of 30 years like to travel, exercise and spend time with family and friends.
